Ron Lattanze
Board Member
Ron specializes in recruiting highly talented teams and brings operations, international, and executive management experience to Lucerno. Ron was a member of Guidant Corporation’s Management Committee. He served as President, Guidant Endovascular Solutions. Before running Endovascular Solutions, Ron lived in Tokyo for over four years and served as President, Guidant Japan. Before moving to Tokyo, Ron lived in Hong Kong for three years as the Managing Director for Guidant’s Asia Operations. He received both a BA and MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Between earning degrees, he served as an officer in the US Navy.
Anne M. Smalling
Board Member
Anne is CEO and Managing Partner of HM International, LLC (HMI). She serves on the Boards of Directors of Quality Sausage Company, American Innovations, Igasamex, Lucerno, Garrison Brothers, Cantaloupe, and TSG. Anne is a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of Cornell University and a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Waterloo Greenway in Austin. Anne has a BS from Cornell University and MBA from Harvard Business School.
Brad Wilson
Board Member
Brad served almost 8 years as CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC during which time the company successfully implemented the ACA and enjoyed strong customer and financial growth. He also served as COO and General Counsel during a 22-year career at BCBSNC. Before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, he served as General Counsel to N.C. Governor James B. Hunt from 1992 to 1995 and was a practicing attorney from 1978 to 1992. Brad served 16 years on the UNC Board of Governors and Chaired the Board for 4 years. Has served on or Chaired a number of Gubernatorial Commissions on a variety of topics. He is recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest NC civilian honor. Brad received a BA from Appalachian State University, Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law, and MA from Duke University.
Don Kiepert
Board Member
Don has been a successful entrepreneur who has started and led twelve healthcare companies. He has chaired and served on multiple healthcare company boards and advised leading PE firms on various acquisition opportunities. Don started Chartwell Home Therapies, a national home infusion services company. In 2014 and 2015 he spent fifteen months as a full-time advisor to Bain Capital. Don served as a board member and CEO of Lantheus Medical Imaging. Prior to Lantheus, he founded Point Therapeutics, which went public and raised $100M in capital. Don recently founded Seropeutics, LLC an early stage biopharmaceutical company. Early in Don’s career he held multiple senior manager positions at Baxter Travenol, including co-founding the Travacare Division. Current board roles include Curium Pharma and Lucerno. He also serves as a board advisor to Reiley Pharmaceuticals, Terran Biosciences, Bach Biosciences, and ImmunoTrace, LLC. Don received both BS and MS in Pharmacy from Purdue University.
Brian Goldstein, MD
Board Member
Brian Goldstein is a Clinical Professor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer at UnitedHealthcare. He has twenty-five years of experience as a physician-executive, with a consistent focus on innovations that enhance health care for patients and consumers and improve physicians’ practice. Brian served as a Chief Operating Officer at Seattle-based University of Washington Medicine from 2016 to 2018. He served as UNC Hospitals’ Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that appointment, he served for eight years as UNC Hospitals’ Chief of Staff and as the UNC School of Medicine’s Executive Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. Brian received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine.
Ramsey Kilani, MD
Board Member
Ramsey specializes in venture capital and healthcare. He founded Western Skies Partners and Gliavent Group, with roles at GSIS and ArmaKap highlighting strategic planning and nuclear expertise. He has served as a faculty member in Neuroradiology at Duke University, where he also completed his residency and fellowship training. In his time in academia, he authored numerous manuscripts in the medical literature on the topics of utilization of diagnostics and spinal interventional procedures. He has also published in the fields of translational neuroscience, pharmacology, and gene therapy; and serves as a reviewer for multiple journals, including Medical Care, a leading health policy journal. Ramsey holds degrees from the University of Arizona in Tucson and Northwestern University. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations and societies, and serves on advisory committees within the American College of Radiology, and the American Board of Radiology.
